Washington, D.C. — On April 25, 2025, CapeTown DMV partnered with Anacostia River Church to provide free barbering services during the Second Chance Job Fair hosted at the DC Dream Center. The event focused on empowering returning citizens and community members seeking employment by connecting them with local employers, resources, and support services.
CapeTown DMV’s team of skilled barbers volunteered their time and talent to ensure participants looked and felt their best as they met with potential employers and networked with local organizations. A fresh haircut provided more than a polished appearance — it offered a renewed sense of dignity, confidence, and hope.
“Opportunities like this remind us that self-esteem and second chances go hand in hand,” said Felicia Webb, Co-Founder of CapeTown DMV. “We believe that when people feel good about how they present themselves, it changes how they approach the world — and that confidence can open new doors.”
The partnership with Anacostia River Church and the DC Dream Center reflects CapeTown DMV’s ongoing mission to build self-esteem within underserved communities by providing free hair and beauty services while creating pathways to employment, entrepreneurship, and licensure. By offering grooming services at community events like the Second Chance Job Fair, CapeTown DMV continues to support individuals on their journey toward personal and professional transformation.
Together, we celebrated resilience, restoration, and the power of community.
