Washington, D.C. — On December 22, 2024, CapeTown DMV hosted its 4th Annual “A December to Remember” Charity Event at WeAct Radio and the Anacostia Arts Center in Ward 8, Washington, D.C. — bringing the spirit of giving, unity, and holiday cheer to hundreds of families across the community.
This year’s event was bigger than ever! In partnership with Toys for Tots, CapeTown DMV helped distribute over 10,000 toys to Ward 8 residents — ensuring that every child experienced the joy and magic of the holiday season. Families lined up with excitement as volunteers, barbers, stylists, and community partners came together to make the day one to remember.
Guests received free haircuts, hairstyles, manicures, makeup services, hot meals, live music, and access to community resources — all while celebrating together in an uplifting, family-friendly atmosphere filled with laughter, love, and gratitude.
“Each year, this event grows — not just in size, but in impact,” said Felicia Webb, Co-Founder of CapeTown DMV. “It’s more than a day of giving. It’s about restoring confidence, building connections, and showing our neighbors that they are seen, valued, and cared for. That’s what CapeTown DMV stands for.”
The 4th Annual “A December to Remember” was made possible through the incredible generosity of community partners, volunteers, and sponsors — including WeAct Radio, Anacostia Arts Center, Toys for Tots, and a host of local organizations, small businesses, and supporters who helped make this year’s celebration unforgettable.
This event reflected CapeTown DMV’s ongoing mission to build self-esteem within underserved communities by providing free hair and beauty services while creating pathways to employment, entrepreneurship, and licensure. Through service, compassion, and collaboration, CapeTown DMV continues to uplift and empower communities across the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region.
It truly was A December to Remember — and a powerful reminder that when we come together, we make the season brighter for everyone.
