This holiday season marks a powerful milestone for CapeTown DMV — five years of service, love, and community impact. What began in 2020 as a small act of kindness by local barbers, stylists, and volunteers has grown into one of Ward 8’s most cherished holiday traditions: A December to Remember.
For half a decade, this event has brought smiles, hope, and holiday cheer to hundreds of families across Southeast Washington, D.C. Every year, volunteers, community members, and local businesses come together in the true spirit of giving — reminding us that when we serve together, we grow together.

Since its humble beginnings, A December to Remember has been more than a charity event — it’s been a movement of compassion. Each year, we’ve offered:
